pocketbrowse is an experiment that offers a different way to browse the internet using any device with a decent browser. With pocketbrowse you get an easy way to access some some of the best stuff on the web in a way that won't drive you crazy when viewing on a device with a tiny or giant screen. It provides the information you want, when you want it, where you want, on whatever device is handy.
2. How do I use pocketbrowse?
Go to your browser on whatever device you are using and type in "pocketbrowse.com". It might be a good idea to bookmark it so you don't have to type it again. Normally, it will take a few seconds to load but this only happens the first time you load the page. Now, click on a button or text link to see where it takes you. A page will be displayed that shows interesting information in a format that is easy to read on your browser no matter what size it is. Most likely, this page will have some links which take you to a related page. You can return back to the main menu by clicking the pocketbrowse logo at the top of any page.3. Why does it not display on my device?
Some devices don't display regular internet pages very well or your internet connection may be slow. pocketbrowse is designed for devices that have a screen size roughly 2 by 3 inches. If your screen is smaller than this then try clicking "Text Navigation" at the bottom of the home page. This enables you navigate using text links.4. What information does pocketbrowse collect when I use the service?
We follow AOL's privacy policy. For more information access it here: AOL Network Privacy Policy.
5. Why do some links not work on my browser?
We don't promise to display every link you might normally see through a standard browsing experience. This is because we have attempted to make the pocketbrowse experience work on as many devices as possible. Sometimes you will see a link and its just not enabled because we don't think it will work on most devices. If you see a problem you really think needs attention please send us feedback at feedback@pocketbrowse.com6. pocketbrowse pages are taking too long to load. What should I do?
pocketbrowse is designed for devices that support at least 40kps. If you don't know what that means, the service only works when you have a good internet connection. There are some cases where certain devices have screens that are just not large enough. In that case, we recommend you try it on a different device. We also suggest you do whatever you can to improve your internet connection. Call your internet provider and they can probably provide you with many options to improve the speed of your connection.7. What does the missing kids button do?
We link to a feed provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. If you are interested in more information, visit missingkids.com using a standard browsing experience.8. Can I advertise on this service?
We don't support advertising since this is an experimental project.9. Where should I send feedback about the service?>
Please send your feedback to feedback@pocketbrowse.com or visit our blog. We look forward to reading your comments.
